Student Event – Holiday Breakout, Dec 4th 2011. Supports Sick Kids Hospital

An event put on by a student group out of Metalworks Institute called MISPENT Youth, it is an all-ages show and it is set to take place on December 4th, 2011 at the Rockpile Bar and Nightclub at 7 PM. Tickets for the event are a mere $4.00 and all proceeds go to the Friends of Music Therapy Endowment Fund, a charity established by Sick Kids Hospital devoted to helping children in need through music.

Tonight, 7 to 10pm at P.K. Creek Bar and Grill (255 Dundas Street West). Come and support Breakfast with Santa Foundation! An evening full of entertainment featuring: Breaching Vista, Stephen Skilling (Host), The Basement Kids Improv Group, and DJ K-ris. Event sponsored by: EMI Music Canada, Habitual Fitness and Lifestyle, Meridian Credit Union, Sony Music, and more.

Students Attend The 22nd Annual SOCAN Awards Show

On Monday, November 21st , 30 Metalworks Institute graduates and students put on their finest attire and attended the 2011 SOCAN Award Show on guest list. Among those in the audience of the show included Randy Bachman, The Trews and Hedley. “It was great to see so much Canadian talent. Thanks again Metalworks for giving us the opportunity to attend the SOCAN Awards.”

Event Recap: Vocal Day – Sunday November 20th, 2011

Thank you to all for attending Vocal Day on Sunday. There were many great performances by our Music Performance and Technology Faculty including faculty members, Wendy Irvine, Mark Christiano, Mike Ferfolia, Chris Sutherland, Calvin Beale, Peter Kadar and Anesti Karantakis. There were also vocal clinics with our faculty members as well as a clinic with Roland Clinicians, Adrian Marsi, Selyne Maia and Canadian Beatbox Champion KRNFX.

Tonight, 30 Metalworks Institute students and graduates will be attending the 22nd Annual SOCAN Awards gala at Roy Thomson Hall on guestlist. Our Metalworks Institute students/graduates were given a tremendous opportunity to watch history and be present in the audience of the 2011 SOCAN Awards. We wish those all nominated great success and wish all of our students and graduates all the best for an enjoyable experience and evening perfect for networking!
