About This Diploma Program
Designed by musicians, for musicians, our Music Performance & Technology Diploma Program is built on a unique concept: to offer the complete range of industry knowledge required to take the art of performance to the professional level. Whether you are a vocalist, guitarist, bassist, drummer, or keyboardist, (other instruments may be accepted), this program will provide you with flexibility and space for personal style as you learn to perfect your business and music performance skills and master the technologies and computer applications related to your instrument.
In the Music Performance & Technology Diploma Program, you will have access to the industry’s best and most influential music technologies as you work with exceptional instructors in the studio, on the stage, and in the classroom.
It takes more than being a good player to succeed as a performer in today’s highly competitive talent market, and knowing how to utilize current recording technologies to create your art is becoming increasingly important for today’s musicians and content creators. This educational break-through will allow passionate musicians to discover a myriad of opportunities and realize their personal creative ambitions.
Graduates of Metalworks Institute's Music Performance & Technology Diploma Program are eligible for a Degree Pathway into Yorkville University's Bachelor of Creative Arts Degree.

On-Campus Format
On-Campus Diploma Programs are 100% in-person with all classes taught at our campus in Mississauga.
Hybrid Format
Hybrid Diploma Programs are taught through both online and in-person classes at our campus in Mississauga.

All instructors have been chosen for their industry experience, knowledge, accomplishments, and passion for teaching, and have been qualified by the Ministry of Advanced Education & Skills Development.

Students are taught through a variety of instructional methods including: lectures, workshops, labs, e-learning, clinics, and tutorials.
Mediums
Instructors typically use audio-visual presentations, practical demonstrations, printed handouts, and interactive media resources.
Degree Pathways
Metalworks Institute has partnered with Yorkville University to offer Degree Pathways.
Students who successfully complete the Music Performance & Technology Degree Pathway will graduate with a Diploma from Metalworks Institute and a Bachelor of Creative Arts Degree from Yorkville University. Upon completion of the Degree Pathway, international students are eligible to apply for a post-graduate work permit.
