Most of our Diploma Programs cost nothing to apply to. However, applicants interested in the Music Performance & Technology program must pay a $75.00 Audition Fee and international students must pay an International Application Fee.

After receiving your submission, an Admissions Counsellor will contact you by email and provide you with Part II of the application form.
You will be advised as to the status of your application within one week of completing all application requirements.
Successful applicants must register within thirty (30) days of acceptance to Metalworks Institute; otherwise we can no longer guarantee your spot in the program.
After a period of six (6) months, unsuccessful applicants can re-apply for admission to the school, on a one-time-only basis.

You’ll find a variety of different housing options near Metalworks Institute. The cost of living in Mississauga is far lower than in Toronto and there are many available properties within walking distance of the school.
All of the Diploma Programs at Metalworks Institute are full-time. In order to be successful, students must be completely focused on and dedicated to their studies. Most programs require students to attend 25 – 30 hours of class and devote 5+ hours to completing assignments and studying for tests and exams each week.
Yes. There is a short timed online test at the end of each lesson which you must complete successfully before you can access the next lesson in the course. Once all of the tests have been completed there is a timed final exam which covers all of the material in the course. You must achieve 80% on the final exam in order to successfully complete the course.
You will need regular access to a computer with an Internet connection and Web access for the duration of your course. Either a PC – 600 MHz processor or faster, 256 MB RAM or greater (512 MB recommended) Windows XP or higher.

You have access to your grades at all times via your online course page. Once you have successfully completed your course you will be sent a transcript containing your final grade and a Certificate of Completion from Metalworks Institute.

When you apply for college or university through the college or university application centre, you’ll be directed to OSAP’s website where you can register and set up your profile. Registration is free! You will need your social insurance number (and parents’ if applicable).
Apply early! Students typically apply right after being accepted to the college.
Eligible students can receive a maximum of $390 (Single Students)/$660 (Married, Common Law or students with dependants) per week of studies for their annual program of study. Every OSAP student is automatically assessed for any available grants when applying for OSAP.
The amount of OSAP you qualify for is based on your calculated financial need.

**The Government of Canada provides $210/week in loans for all student types. (This is already included in the funding above.)
Once you complete the online application, you will be provided with instructions via the “check status” section as to what you need to do next. Certain forms will need to be uploaded directly on the OSAP website or will need to be sent to Metalworks Institute (To the Financial Aid Office’s attention). Your application will be reviewed and your FAO will contact you with any required follow up requirements.
What is the MSFAA?
The MSFAA (Master Student Financial Assistance Agreement) lays out your responsibilities and the terms and conditions of accepting and repaying your student loans. It needs to be taken to a designated Canada Post Office.
With regards to this document be sure to;
Bring the first page only (with your signature) to a designated Canada Post outlet
Have two pieces of valid identification:
A Social Insurance Number (SIN) card or government document confirming your SIN
A government-issued photo ID
The Canada Post outlet will send your lifetime student loan agreement to the National Student Loans Service Centre on your behalf. *Free Of Charge*
Note: Once your MSFAA is submitted, it’s good for the duration of your full-time studies. You won’t have to submit it again if you apply for OSAP next year.
OSAP funds are usually disbursed in two installments approximately 1 week after a student commences their studies. For a three-term study period, 60% of the funding will be disbursed in the Fall and the remainder in the Winter term. Students will only receive funding once the student starts attending and meets the requirements for their enrollment confirmation. This is to ensure that students are attending classes, actively participating and excelling in their program. (Two critical components in maintaining OSAP eligibility: Grades (Minimum 60% GPA) and satisfactory attendance.
