Students Attend The 22nd Annual SOCAN Awards Show

On Monday, November 21st , 30 of our graduates and students put on their finest attire and attended the 2011 SOCAN Award Show on guest list. Among those in the audience of the show included Randy Bachman, The Trews and Hedley.

“It was great to see so much Canadian talent. Thanks again for giving us the opportunity to attend the SOCAN Awards,” stated Entertainment Business Management Graduate (2010) Kayla Durish.

Recipients of awards included K’naan, Hedley, Blue Rodeo and Michael Buble. Among the audience were also our faculty members Paul Sanderson and Vivian Barclay.

Professional Sound and Business student Dylan MacIntyre thoroughly enjoyed the event and stated, “It was truly a pleasure to attend the SOCAN award show last night. It’s a great feeling knowing that you are sitting in the crowd with some of the greatest singers and song writers Canada has to offer! It was also very nice to see a few of my classmates and a few members of our faculty looking so fancy and professional! I have to give a big thanks to the Institute for giving me the chance to attend the show, without them I would have never have gotten such a great opportunity!”
