Alumni Update: Reuben Bakker, Audio Production and Engineering

In 2014 Reuben Bakker graduated from Metalworks Institute’s Audio Production and Engineering Program. Upon graduating, Reuben had the opportunity to go to Philadelphia to work on a charitable initiative launched by Drake at Strawberry Mansion High School with the Remix Project. The team set out to build a recording studio on site to help give students the motivation and encouragement to stay in school. Upon his return, Reuben started working at bb Blanc Entertainment setting up for live shows, corporate events, weddings, galas, trade shows and more.

Through Metalworks, Reuben was also able to complete a mentorship with GRAMMY –nominated and multi-JUNO award winning Canadian producer Gavin Brown. Along with producing and engineering albums that are slated for release this summer, Reuben is doing session work recording drums on multiple albums as well as playing live shows.
