Alumni Update: Rainer + Grimm, Audio Production and Engineering

Jeff ‘Grimm’ Crake and Rainer Miller-Blanchaer both graduated from the Audio Production and Engineering Program in 2008. Since completing the program, the two have come together as ‘Rainer + Grimm’, a writing and production duo continuously making waves within the ever-popular world of Electronic Dance Music (EDM).

Most recently, their remix of Sam Smith’s ‘Stay with Me’ has received over 150,000 plays on Sound Cloud in just 10 days. Their remix is receiving a ton of radio play on Carson Daly’s radio show 97.1 Amp radio in LA and has also been picked up on a variety of other stations throughout California. During a live to air interview with Sam Smith, Carson Daly played Rainer + Grimm’s remix of the song which has since made it to the #1 spot on Hype Machine’s popular charts and has been blogged over 15 times on various music sites.
**UPDATE as of December 15, 2014 this remix has hit over 3 MILLION plays! Congratulations!

In addition to their recent success with the Sam Smith remix, Rainer + Grimm have also worked on Grammy award winning music with Drake, and Rainer has also produced tracks with R&B artist The Weeknd.

With more remixes, a remix EP and an EP of all original work on the way, 2014 is shaping up to be a very busy year for this pair. You can also find them live every Friday night as the resident DJ’s at Product Nightclubs night HAUS in Toronto. Check out Rainer + Grimm’s remix of ‘Stay with Me’ on SoundCould along with their remix of Party Next Door’s ‘Persian Rugs” and LA based band DWNTWN’s song ‘Til Tomorrow’ which are also receiving radio play and blog love.
