Open Mic Night at Boston Pizza (Square One)

Our Institute presents Open Mic Night at Boston Pizza in Mississauga on the last Wednesday of every month. Seating starts at 7:30pm and performances start at 8pm.

Everyone is welcome at Boston Pizza as there is a 19+ lounge and an ALL AGES section in the dining room.  This is a FREE event but food or drinks must be purchased in order to secure a table.

Performers get 2 songs each which is roughly a 10 minute slot.

We will supply the sound system, a drum kit (provided by Long & McQuade – http://www.long-mcquade.com/), a guitar amp and a DI for bass. Please bring your sticks, cables and instruments. If you have more than one guitarist in the band, please bring an extra guitar amp.

The event will be hosted by one of our alumni, Joel Martin, and prizes will be awarded for best original song and best cover song!

This event gives MWI students the opportunity to get real-world experience setting up and operating gear, working with microphones, mixing and troubleshooting. It also gives students a chance to stage manage, network, perform and have a great time with friends and family.

Earlier this year, one of our Open Mic Nights was the most successful event in Boston Pizza’s 3 year history with over 50 confirmed performers and attendance reaching capacity! Lets have another great night this September 28th!
