Student News: Guest Lecture with Jodi Ferneyhough

We held the first guest lecture of the fall 2013 term with a visit from Jodie Ferneyhough! “Jodie brings years of knowledge and expertise to the always important and vital world of intellectual property. He spent ten years as the head of Universal Music Publishing Group. Throughout his career his artists have been nominated for or were awarded accolades from the Juno Awards, SOCAN Awards, Country Music Awards, Much Music Video Awards, Grammy Awards and Latin Grammy Awards. Jodie sits on the Board of Directors of CMRRA and is the President of the Canadian Music Publishers Association (CMPA).” Topics of discussion throughout Jodie’s one hour visit included; different types of publishing deals, sync placement, sampling, tips for songwriters, social media and more!
