About the Scholarship
This annual post-secondary award program will help launch the careers of 4 high potential young individuals who are on the cusp of graduating from post-secondary music studies. Selected scholarship recipients will be given a financial award of $4,000 and attend an all-inclusive trip to Toronto for a 4-day mentoring and networking experience.
What: This annual post-secondary award program will help launch the careers of 4 high potential young individuals who are on the cusp of graduating from post-secondary music studies. Through financial contributions and a unique series of mentoring and networking sessions, the awards will have a significant and long-lasting impact on the lives of young individuals at the start of their music careers. MusiCounts aims to shine a spotlight on music excellence at the post-secondary level, as part of the “educate-develop-celebrate-honour” spectrum under the CARAS umbrella.
Who Can Be Nominated: Each post-secondary institution can nominate up to 3 students enrolled in music studies (degree, diploma or certificate) who intend to pursue a career in one of the following career streams; performing arts, producer/engineer, or music business.
When: Post-Secondary institutions will nominate candidates in March, candidates will submit applications in April and Award Recipients will be notified at the end of June. Mentoring will take place in the fall.
