Launch 48 Metalworks News

On March 6th over 250 students gathered at Jean Vanier Catholic Secondary School in Scarborough, Ontario for MusiCounts 2013/2014 Band Aid Grant recipients’ announcement. The event featured a performance by Classified and David Myles which included their hit songs “3 Foot Tall”, “So Blind” and “Inner Ninja”.

70 schools nationwide have been collectively awarded $600,000 to support their school’s music programs and opportunities. The partnerships between MusiCounts, Music Canada, and The Slaight Family Foundation have brought schools across Canada one step closer to their goals of a better music education.  Jean Vanier CSS specifically was given $10,000 for new and innovative instruments such as electronic drums and samplers.

Metalworks Production Group audio technicians Luke Purchase and Kory Vanderiviere installed the PA system for the artists. They deployed an Avid S3L console to manage the stage for the speeches and performances of this amazing event.
