Mississauga Waterfront Festival 2019
Congratulations to Kennedy Lucas and Ana Zwick for being the 2019 recipients of the Metalworks Institute / Mississauga Waterfront Festival Scholarship! Both of these exceptional students are currently in the final year of the Professional Sound & Business (Live Production Major) Diploma Program.
Ana and Kennedy were presented with their $2,000 awards at the festival by Metalworks Founder Gil Moore; Mayor Bonnie Crombie; and Chairperson of the Mississauga Waterfront Festival Pat Anderson.
In addition to the cash prizes, these deserving scholarship recipients were given the opportunity to join the Metalworks Production Group crew at the festival, working alongside industry pros, Metalworks Institute alumni, and current Professional Sound & Business (Studio Production Major) Diploma Program student Lilia McDonald. Lilia worked with Metalworks Production Group as a Production Assistant, seizing the opportunity to gain some live event experience.
Metalworks Production Group is proud to continue to provide the audio, lighting, and staging for all three nights of music at the Mississauga Waterfront Festival and to contribute to the Mississauga arts community. The 2019 festival lineup included Summer of 69, Just Heart, Juke Box Heroes, Elyse Saunders, Big City Lights, Kansas Stone, and Jason Blaine.
Congratulations again to the 2019 Winners of the Metalworks Institute / Mississauga Waterfront Festival Scholarship! See you next year at the MWF.
