Make Music Matter at Metalworks Institute 2017
Today Metalworks Institute students from Professional Sound & Business Studio Production Major were lucky enough to spend some time in the studio with world-renowned producer David Bottrill and Darcy Ataman from Make Music Matter. Metalworks Institute students contribute their time to Make Music Matter by mixing tracks that they receive from Panzi Hospital in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. These songs are written and recorded by victims of trauma and violence who have become artists. After the tracks are mixed and reviewed they are sent back to the DRC where they’re played on a variety of radio stations throughout Africa.
Thank you again to Darcy Ataman and David Bottrill for letting us be a part of this amazing initiative! To find out more about Make Music Matter check out their website here.
