Congratulations to Lauren Michaels, the 2017 winner of the Laurie Pallett/Metalworks Institute Scholarship! Lauren stopped by the school today to meet with Laurie Pallett, Mike Douglas – Director for the Mississauga Arts Council, and Candice Mohacsi – Director of Student and Alumni Services at Metalworks Institute.
The Laurie Pallett/Metalworks Institute Scholarship was established in honor of the Founding Executive Director of the Mississauga Arts Council. Laurie Pallett has been a strong supporter of the arts in Mississauga for over 20 years, and her commitment to the arts continues to inspire the community. Through her leadership, the Mississauga Arts Council was a catalyst for founding many of Mississauga’s most recognizable arts establishments, including the Meadowvale Theatre, the Art Gallery of Mississauga, and the Living Arts Centre.
Lauren Michaels’ exemplary essay about why the arts are important in the community has earned her a $5,000.00 tuition scholarship for Metalworks Institute’s 1-year Music Business Program.
