Shari Ulrich and daughter JuliaOn Monday, May 28th from 7:30pm-8:30pm EST, MWI Backstage Pass introduces Shari Ulrich up close and personal in the south auditorium. Watch and listen to her perform some of her songs and talk about performing, songwriting and her experiences in the music business.

Originally a California girl, Shari’s career through the Pied Pumkin, The Hometown Band, and on as a solo artist continues to inspire audiences, and set the bar for two generations of female singer/songwriters.

BC Entertainment Hall of Fame Inductee and Juno award winner Ulrich is now joined by her 21 year old daughter Julia on violin, piano, guitar, accordion, mandolin and vocals in her solo shows. She also continues to tour and record with the trios – The Pied Pumkin, Ulrich Henderson Forbes (UHF), Barney Bentall and Tom Taylor & Shari Ulrich (BTU) and with the Bluegrass Band “The High Bar Gang” with Barney Bentall. She also composes for film and television, produces the Vancouver Bluebird North concert series for the Songwriters Association of Canada, and just released a new solo album “Find Our Way”. Shari will be joined by special guests Julia Graff & Ted Littlemore.

MWI Backstage Pass, offers a live and online audience an inside look into the craft and business of some of Canada’s best musicians and performers. Presented by the Institute’s Music Performance & Technology Programs, this brand new streamed forum presents these artists up close and personal to an audience of developing vocalists, guitarists, keyboardists, drummers and bass guitarists and music fans across the country. Participants have the opportunity to ask questions live in person, via twitter or online chat during these streamed events.

Located just outside of Toronto, our Institute is the educational creation and natural extension of renowned Metalworks Studios, home to some of the world’s most successful artists and producers. Diploma programs have been designed for those who wish to understand the complexities of the entertainment industry and build a successful career on a solid base of knowledge. We are providing an opportunity for students to explore their art through the understanding of its science.
