On Saturday, January 29th, our Institute celebrated its 2009-2010 graduates with a beautiful ceremony held at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga, Ontario. The evening featured the presentation of diplomas, speeches, awards and recognition of those who had demonstrated outstanding academic achievement. Following the ceremony, there was an opportunity for graduates, faculty and top industry professionals to mingle around the bar with hors-d’oeuvres.
The master of ceremonies was Audio Production & Engineering graduate Noel Cadastre. Since his graduation, Cadastre’s career has been booming. His position as producer Noah “40” Shebib’s assistant has allowed him to work on hugely successful recording projects with names like Drake and Lil’ Wayne. His story of success was an inspiration and his presence was a reminder to all the graduates that the skills they acquired during their education can take them as far as they want.
“This year’s graduation was the largest yet. The number of graduates has grown every year since our inception in 2005. Watching the school develop and produce more and more successful graduates year after year makes all of the staff at Metalworks Institute proud.”, says Gil Moore, Founder.
Several leading industry professionals supported the graduates with a series of Mentoring Awards . The concept involves awarding a deserving graduate with an hour of mentoring time with a successful professional in their field of study. Our Institute thanks the following mentors for their generous donation of knowledge and time to our 2009-2010 graduates:
Paul Gross, Lenny DeRose, Gavin Brown, Rik Emmett, L. Stu Young, David Bottrill, Noah “40” Shebib, Allan Reid, Deane Cameron, Jake Gold, Denise Donlon, Gary Slaight, Alan Cross, Randy Lennox, Richard Mills, Chuck Jackson, Bob Spencer, Steve Baird and Ralph James.
We are also very grateful to our Educational Partners who supported the Outstanding Achievement awards:
