Guest Lecture From Metalworks Alumnus Jason Reynolds

Recently, students from both our Live Event & Concert Production and Stage Lighting & Video Diploma programs had the opportunity to speak with one of Metalworks Institute’s most successful alumni, Jason Reynolds.

Jason was a part of Metalworks Institute’s very first graduating class in 2005. Since then, he has gone on to build his career as an in-demand sound engineer, touring as a Front of House Engineer with international recording artist Shaggy. Jason is also the President and Head Audio Engineer at Anjel Music Productions and he recently did monitors for Sting in Jamaica as a part of the Shaggy and Friends 2018 tour.

During his visit, Jason gave an hour-long lecture, in which he spoke about everything from gear to business strategies, before answering numerous student questions. He closed by saying “In this business, relationships are everything. It’s very rare that lone wolves do well … value your relationships because you never know when somebody is going to say ‘Hire that guy’” - Excellent advice from an accomplished entrepreneur.
