On Thursday, July 16th our final term Music Performance & Technology students rocked the house at Cooper’s Pub for their year-end event titled “Summer Jam” in support of Make Music Matter. As part of their Ensemble Workshop course with Instructor Davor Jordanovski, students are required to collaborate across majors for an ensemble performance. Throughout the course, students develop fundamental performance skills for various ensemble sizes and are introduced to practice, pre-rehearsal preparation, musical interpretation, stage presence and concert etiquette.
This event showcased performances by our vocal, drums & percussion, guitar and keyboard majors. Along with performing, students are required to organize, sound, lighting, venue and promotion for their event.
Ticket and raffle proceeds of $305.00 were donated to Make Music Matter to help provide youth affected by extreme poverty the opportunity to learn public health education and music education.
