Alumni Update: Josue Cespedes, Audio Production and Engineering

Josue Cespedes graduated from Metalworks Institute’s Audio Production and Engineering Program in 2011. With a focus on his own production company Doctor Heavy, Josue has worked as an audio engineer on numerous events throughout the greater Toronto area and North America. The wide array of assignments he’s worked on includes community events for the Toronto Blue Jays, regular church services at Embassy Church as well as events at Club Soda, a long-running club for live entertainment in Montreal featuring musical styles from hip-hop to jazz within an intimate environment. For the past two and a half years, Josue has also worked with Freeman Audio Visual Canada as a Technical Services Representative. Freeman Audio Visual “provides full-service audio visual rental and staging resources for conventions, corporate events, and trade shows”. With Freeman AV Josue has worked on various audio, lighting, rigging and video wall set ups for corporate events throughout North America.

Recently Josue connected with Storm Electronics Technology to create two custom designs for a Pre+ 4B Processor and Sub Bass Processor. Josue assisted in the building of the processors, the overall design, manufacturing and connecting with suppliers. The two processors are designed for studio applications but have crossed into the live venue and club scene as well. Reach Josue by email, dr.heavyproducer@gmail.com or find him on Facebook!
