We are thrilled to congratulate Metalworks Institute alum Akeel Henry (Audio Production & Engineering 2014) on his JUNO Award nomination for his exceptional work as a producer on Megan Thee Stallion's hit track "Spin." Akeel has been nominated for the prestigious Jack Richardson Producer of the Year Award, recognizing his outstanding contributions to the music industry.
This marks Akeel's third nomination for this prestigious award, following his previous nominations in 2021 for his work on Trey Songz’s "Rain" and Toni Braxton’s "Spell My Name," as well as his win in 2023 for his work on Giveon's "For Tonight" and John Legend’s "Splash."
In addition to his work on "Spin," Akeel also served as the executive producer on LOONY's album LOONY, which has been nominated for Contemporary R&B/Soul Recording of the Year at the 2025 JUNO Awards.
The 54th Annual JUNO Awards will be held in Vancouver, and we are incredibly proud of Akeel’s continued achievements. We wish him the best of luck at the upcoming ceremony and look forward to seeing his continued success in the music industry!
