Akeel Henry Gets Two Big Nods

Metalworks Institute could not be more proud of Alumnus Akeel Henry (Audio Production & Engineering 2014) who took home the coveted Jack Richardson Producer of the Year JUNO at the 53rd annual celebration of Canada’s top musicians, singers, producers, and songwriters.  Akeel was recognized, in this very competitive category, for his work on “For Tonight” by singer-songwriter Giveon and “Splash” by John Legend.

Akeel’s JUNO statue comes right on the heels of two GRAMMY nominations for his work on Jazmine Sullivan’s Billboard Topping hit “Hurt Me So Good”.  The song was nominated in both the Best R&B Song and Best R&B performance categories.

Keep up the great work Akeel!  We’re excited to see what’s next!
