A. You can register for any online course by completing our Online Registration Form.

Q. How do I pay for my course?
A. You can pay for your courses by Visa, MasterCard, bank draft or cash (in person).

Q. When are the courses offered?
A. You will be notified of the date you can access the online course once the registration process has been completed.

Q. How long are the courses?
A. Each online course contains 10-12 lessons, which are each, typically 20-30 minutes in duration.

Q. Can I take multiple courses at the same time?
A. You can take a maximum of two courses simultaneously.

Q. Are there tests and exams?
A. Yes. There is a short timed online test at the end of each lesson which you must complete successfully before you can access the next lesson in the course. Once all of the tests have been completed there is a timed final exam which covers all of the material in the course. You must achieve 80% on the final exam in order to successfully complete the course.

Q. What is the passing grade for tests and exams?
A. Metalworks Institute uses a percentage grading system of 1 to 100%. A passing grade for both tests and final exams is 80%.

Q. What computer requirements do I need for courses?
A. You will need regular access to a computer with an Internet connection and Web access for the duration of your course.
Either a PC – 600 MHz processor or faster, 256 MB RAM or greater (512 MB recommended) Windows XP/Vista/WIN7
OR MAC: Intel x 86 based processor, 512 MB RAM or greater (1 GB recommended), Mac OS-X 10.5 (Leopard) or 10.6 (Snow Leopard)

Q. What if I need technical assistance?
A. Simply email online@metalworksinstitute.com with your question and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Emails are checked regularly throughout the daytime and evening hours. Please note that Metalworks Institute is located in the EDT time zone.

Q. What if I sent an email but I haven’t heard back?
A. You should receive a reply within 24 hours of sending an email. Should you not receive a reply, please contact the academics office at Metalworks Institute at 905.279.4000

Q. Do I have to be online at a certain time?
A. Online learning at Metalworks Institute allows you the flexibility to be online any day at any time. You can study at a time that works best for you.

Q. How long do I have to complete a course?
A. You have access to the course for 180 days from the scheduled start date to complete your course

Q. How do I receive my final grade?
A. You have access to your grades at all times via your online course page. Once you have successfully completed your course your will be sent a transcript containing your final grade and a Certificate of Completion from Metalworks Institute.

Q.How do I get my certificate when I’ve completed the courses?
A. When you have successfully competed your course, your Certificate of Completion will be sent to the address we have on file. Should you move, please be sure to update us with the new information.

Q. Can a course taken online be applied toward one of the full-time Diploma programs at Metalworks Institute?
A. No, not at this time.

A. No, all you need is a computer (see computer requirements) and access to the internet.

A. There are no refunds for online certificate courses.

A. Yes, you can take the tests and exams up to three times each.

Q. Can I access the course materials after I’ve completed the course?
A. No, once you have completed the course, you will no longer have access to the course material.

A. Yes, after registering for a course you will have 180 days to access the course material and complete the required evaluations.
